Book #18 in number but really the end of the beginning for the Robotech saga.
I have heard the rumors of the story and the controversy but honestly I feel that comes from people that are really closed to the animated versions of the characters.
So far(after the Sentinels) I am really enjoying the Novels version of the story/characters.
So far I am about 85 pages into EOTC. Starts a bit slow but the rubber just hit the road on the SDF-3
Compared to the Shadow Chronicles DVD I am enjoying this much much more.

I loved the anime, I loved all the novels .. up until this piece of .. well I have nothing good to say about this book. It was as if the author was using drugs while writing this. It didn't make any sense what so ever. Since you haven't finished the novel, I'll try and not spoil it for you. This is why I like SC better than EOTC. I also don't understand the hate that SC generates. I mean, robotech came back to us, we should be happy. But that's my 2 cents.

To each their own Jeff! That is the great part of being a fan.
I don't hate Shadow Chronicles but it seemed like such a rehash. I am really enjoying the novels and End of the Circle is fascinating to me with its concepts and the depth of the characters.

I finished End of the Circle today.
WOW.
That was like 2001 meets Return of the King.
I actually enjoyed this book quite a bit. I know a lot of people do and don't. It seems to divide the fan base.
Me I found the high level concepts a nice change from the shoot the bad guys who are here to steal their energy back storyline a nice change. I thought the characters all had good journeys and the explanations that tie the story together make sense. I thought that Minmei's story arc was just fine. It was a nice way for her to end compared to the torture she put herself through in the Sentinels.
Also my favorite character dies. I am okay with that though. He had a noble death. There really was not anywhere else for him to go. The characters that lived went on to other things. The ones that needed none were used in great ways. I liked how Lang ended up too.
If I have any negatives to say it is that the first half of the book is a bit slow but that pays off in the latter half as it all resolves itself.
Now do I start with the Macross Saga or jump into the lost era books....
